The Old St Woolos Bells, 1913

Photo reference number: 1272

From the South Wales Argus, 1999:

"In 1913 the eight bells of St Woolos Church were lowered and the octave recast. Two more bells were added when they were re-hung and a further two in 1939.
The thirteenth bell, a flat sixth, weighing six and a half hundredweight, was added in 1988.
The Six Bells public house opposite St Woolos, the name of which has recently been changed by a brewery group, refers to a much earlier suit of bells."
